EMINA & MIRZA
Are getting married! *
If you’ve found your way here, it means you’ve received our invitation and you already know what this is about:
We would love for you to join us for our wedding celebration on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025. It means a lot to us that you’d come see our hometown, meet our families and childhood friends, celebrate with us, and be part of a moment we’ll always remember.
* Talking in the third person was never really our thing, so we just switched to a more direct approach.
WHY NOVI PAZAR?
This is not a question we can answer with “Why not?”
Rather, we really need to give our best and sell you the idea of traveling all the way to South Serbia and being excited about it.
This is the place where our story began. We grew up a few blocks apart, but it took many decades, many cities, mutual friends, languages, and so many things in between until we found each other again—here, in a local bar called “RockCaffe [sic] kod Muteta” (which is now demolished, thanks to... but that’s another story).
For many of you, Novi Pazar is a mythical place you've heard a lot about from us, but somehow it's hard to form a clear image. Since it's difficult to explain, we wanted to give you a reason to come and experience it. You’ll see Ottoman minarets, communist towers, local Po-Mo gems, the newest supercars as well as cars older than you, bustling loud streets, and casual (mostly male) coffee-drinkers. Without spoiling anything, we can’t wait to hear your impressions (and jokes), and of course, we want you to meet this part of our lives.
In the same way you’ve heard about Novi Pazar, our families and childhood friends have heard about you and we think this is a beautiful opportunity for them to finally connect names with faces. We just hope we didn’t over-explain one too many anecdotes, thinking you would never actually meet.
We know it’s not easy, and we know if you Google it, you'll get results saying that this corner of the world is, let’s say... a funky area, so we’ve collected some valuable and practical information that will help you with planning your arrival and accommodation.
TIMELINE
Friday, 01.08.25
Guided Tour of Novi Pazar
After all the party and when you get back home, we want to go back with some knowledge of Novi Pazar, so we prepared a guided tour for you where we will show you our hometown from our perspective. Or we will show you us through Novi Pazar.
Saturday, 02.08.25
Mosque Ceremony
There will be a small ceremony in the at the Sinan Begova Mosque in the city park at 15:00 and all guests are warmly invited to join.
Just a note (mostly for the ladies): the mosque has a specific dress code. Please wear long sleeves, a headscarf, and a long skirt or dress that covers your ankles. Unlike Turkey, there won’t be long-sleeved dresses and scarves that you can borrow at the entrance. If you don’t already have your “Muslim girl” outfit ready, let us know - we can provide you something from our grandma’s collection.
Saturday, 02.08.25
The Wedding Ceremony
Starting from 17:00, you will be welcomed at restaurant Pazariste. The ceremony will be non-alcoholic, so you can expect a relaxed lunch, with the selection of local food.
As the area is located in the Valley some 7 km from the city center, there will be an organized transport from the mosque to the restaurant or if you already bonded with some local guests they will be more then welcome to give you a lift.
The garden of the restaurant is located in the valley of the river Raska, so the profi tip is to bring something to protect you from the sun as well as a jacket or a pulli to be on the safe side if the temperature drops after the sun sets.
Saturday, 02.08.25
The Party
After the ceremony, we will change the backdrop to our celebration and move to city’s industrial zone. The party will start around 22:00. We wanted to bring some of Berlin’s energy and spirit to Novi Pazar and to dance together into the late (or early) hours.
Starting from 21:00, there will be an organized transport from the restaurant to the party venue, or same as before if you have a favorite Pazarian you can come with them.
Here you’ll find the full schedule and details for each event.
We look forward to sharing this special moment with you.
To help us prepare accordingly, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance
